That's what I am hoping to find when I take a closer look since I don't do my own body work.

I'm not Stu...we all wish we had a fraction of his knowledge ...but I have certainly been around the block with the wheels. Be careful with the lingo. Many people interchange the term 'split rim' with any wheel that is not one piece. But yes these are "split rims." Ideally, you want nice 20" wheels with an outer lock ring. If you find 20" wheels with that lock ring then they are not the explosive, dangerous types. The safe(r) wheels are not impossible to find. But extremely rare being sold alone. If you choose to get the truck, the best way to find new wheels is to search Craigslist for complete trucks that are in dire need of restoration and have the safe wheels on them. If you're lucky you'll find the same truck you have that is in far worse shape, for a few hundred bucks, but with good spare parts. I have a '56 F500 and I too needed the wheels. I found them on a '53 F500 that was being scrapped. I bought the truck for $350 and have some excellent spare parts for future needs and also clean, 20" non-widowmaker rims. FWIW I would not be deterred from buying the truck if it had the bad wheels. She's a beauty!

Oh, and welcome to the forum! We love new members!

There's nothing hard about seeing that wide silver ring on the outer dual, and tall rim with no ring on the front. But thanks for the complement, Calvin. And I'll agree with Calvin that CL is our friend finding 20" locking side ring wheels. If you check the current thread where a guy is actually looking for a couple widow makers, I posted this below CL ad for three wheels in KY. Since you live in MN I'd suggest too checking with some of the big eBay parts sellers that are located in MN. But I'd suggest focusing your questions on Dodge and IHC trucks. They seldom, if ever, used the RH-5° wheels but have the same 5 x 8" pattern. Stu

There is a guy with a thread running on here, Stephen, who has shortened a larger truck, installed a later dually bed and is in the process of changing engines. It is going to be a nice driver, work capable truck when he is finished.
