I check some threads but did not come up with what I needed.
So what I have is a 2006 ford superduty 250 XL 5.4L crew cab long bed. I wanted to add cruise control to the truck. However when I search they say install the buttons to the steering wheel. The main problem is my steering wheel has no spot for the buttons to install as picture above shows. It has no plastic to take off and install the buttons.


So I was wanting either the dash toggles or a stick to install. I was wondering about 250-3742. Since the airbag is not only expensive but in the way. I see no way to easily just replace steering wheel with prebuilt in buttons because of cost of new airbag option is out.


So is it possible to take the universal 250-3742 Universal Cruise Control Switch Column Mount and wire it or is the wiring not behind the airbag in the column?


I do not mind wiring in a dash mount I have room, I can not seem to find the wiring in my Chilton or Haynes book for the cruise control wiring.


Now after it gets resolved, will I need to go down to the dealership to enable the cruise control function?

I pretty sure the airbag is the same, just get yourself a new wheel that has the buttons, you may also need a clock spring and likely it will need to be enabled through software.

 

I will check the local craigslist and pick n pulls around to see about a steering wheel. Thanks!
