94 F250 5.8 Belt Tensioner
I have had 3 bolts that hold the tensioner beak off in the last few months. Can anything cause this other than a bad bolt?

Agree. How tight are you torquing the bolt? Only needs to be snugged down.

Thanks for the reply my son-in-law has been putting them on I will ask him about tightening

I usually tighten them to about three elbow clicks lol, not sure pn actual spec but id say 30-35 ft lbs should be plenty

Keep happening went make to old style out off a 91 and problem solved.

Old motorcycle racer I knew would say "tighten to half a turn before it strips - that is, tighten until it strips and back it off half a turn."
