Airbags, last piece to add.

Whoo hoo, airbags show'd up today. I'll get them installed here in the next couple of weeks. Been spending the last few months doing upgrades to my 05 5.4. Had Gibson shorty headers with cat back custom exhaust true duel done with an x pipe. Full stainless now. With Flowmaster 50 series mufflers. I am really liking these. No drone and pretty quiet. Add the live wire tuner from 5 star. Truck runs really good with this combo. Just had 4.10's with Eaton true trac's installed in both axles. Only lost about a half mile to the gallon. Finished my 500 mile break in. Took the camper out for a spin. The new gears do what I wanted. I can run 65 at 2g's while holding OD now. Will hold 3g's now going over the overpasses. Doesn't jump down the extra gear and go to 4's to carry over the top. Loving life now. I do have to be careful with the on off ramps with the Eaton's. Too much gas and I can feel the rear kick a little. All and all. I am very happy and money well spent. Better than buying a new one for 50+. Truck should handle my trip from Orlando to Louisville over the 4th of July much better now.

Air bags are installed. I started to do it Saturday. But I couldn't get the old bolts out from the bump stops. Go figure an 11 year old truck. So I stopped by the repair/muffler shop that did my exhaust this afternoon. They cut the bolts out with a torch and did the install. Drove home with 50psi in them. Definitely rides like a truck now empty. May drop the pressure soon for empty. I'll drive it a day or two first. Can't wait to hook up the camper now. I'll drop the hitch another inch since I had drop and now the bags will raise that up. I'll get it out this coming weekend for a test run before I actually need it in a couple weeks. Best of all only charged $93 for this to be done. That was well worth my aggravation.

I run my airbags at 5 to 7 psi empty. Makes a lot of difference.

That's where I keep mine empty also. Can't even tell they're there.

5-10psi seems to be working well empty. Figured out 50 for when the TT is hooked up. I am enjoying life with the truck these days. Upgrades are always a good thing when we feel they are either wanted or needed.

Mine have the internal bumper, I leave them deflated when empty, even with no air the ride is stiffer.

Figured now that I have towed to Louisville, KY. A good report was due. My daughter is doing AAU basketball. So naturally the camper must go rather than stay in hotels. We trucked it on up to Atlanta for last week's tournament. Stayed at Paynes Campground on Lake Altoona. That was a good place. Will be going back there. On our way into Atlanta we ran into a wicked storm in downtown. Propride handled that very well. With the smaller mountains around Atlanta, the 4.10's did their job very well. I was able to run 55 - 60 at 3g's for RPM. Travelling on to Louisville up 24. We did hit a larger grade. Spun up to 4'gs to maintain 55-60. The little 5.4 just sung a song with the exhaust. Never missing a beat. Got into Louisville yesterday evening. As a whole, I am very pleased with the money for upgrades. The airbags are awesome with the rough roads. Not so sure I want to get rid of this one in favor of a new truck. After this pull. Well that's it in a nutshell.
