Gooseneck hitch and 5th Wheel RV ?

I purchased a 36' RV that has a 5th wheel setup. My tow vehicle has a gooseneck hitch in the bed. Is it possible to rent some sort of adapter to move the RV? I don't want to spend $500 +- to buy an adapter as the RV will only be moved locally from it's present location to it's new "home" one time. Distance is no more than 15 miles guesstimated, no freeway, only surface streets and speeds. The only other option is to find someone with a 5'er setup tow vehicle.

For a one time move, I'd pay someone with the proper equipment to do it. That's just me. 15 miles won't kill the bank.

DO NOT install a gooseneck adapter on a fifth wheel RV. The leverage and torsional forces applied by a gooseneck adapter put undue stress on the pin box and frame of a fifth wheel RV. It may result in frame failure and most likely will void any frame warranty on the RV. There are any number of fifth wheel hitches that will mount to the truck using the gooseneck ball (B&W Companion, Andersen Ultimate, PullRite UltraLite, etc.) but are still standard fifth wheel hitches. If it's just one time, find someone to do it for you as suggested.

I'd second the option of getting someone with a 5th wheel hitch to move it for you.

If you don't know of anyone or trust them then I would go to a RV dealer and see if they have someone that will do the job.

The cheapest adapter on etrailer is over $400.00. You can pay someone to move it for you a lot cheaper. Check the RV section of Craigslist.
