Tiny's 2010 FX4 Build

I have mentioned previously that my truck was going to need some work done on the rocker panels sooner than later. While off yesterday, I stopped at a body shop to get an idea of pricing and the amount of work it would entail. Here are a couple of pictures showing the damage caused by rust.
Driver's side which is just starting to show signs of splitting.
Passenger's Side which has rotted and split.
They have rusted from the inside out and will be replaced with new ones. The rockers are relatively inexpensive at $500 for the pair but it's the labor and paint work that adds up quickly.

Still going to do the lighting mods at some point this summer, but the rockers are going to be a little pricey. While it is in the shop, the rear bumper needs some attention due to rust on both lead edges on the sides.
There is a design flaw with these that does not allow water to drain out. I am sure that having slush and snow pack in between the running board and the rocker does not help either of the spots that will be worked on. I will have some mud flaps on it before next winter to help. That is also one reason why I wanted the rear wheel well liners installed. They did help a lot keeping the snow build up to a minimum.

Hi Rob, that is one of the reasons why I got rid of my '01 last year. This truck originally came from PA and spent some time in the Syracuse area before making it this way. I got a good deal on it so putting some money into it to fix this was expected at some point. Thanks for the compliment and good to see you around.

Finally had some time and the weather cooperated so I could spend a little time with the truck. Here are some before and after shots. Replaced the rear tail lights with OE Harley Davidson and the head lights with halogen projectors that were made and sold by VIPMotoZ.
