Tiny's 2010 FX4 Build
As most of you know, I finally ended up replacing my 2001 F150 XLT Super cab, 5.4, 4X4, 3.55 LS, short box that had just under 178K miles on it. Motor wise, it was still running good but after 16 western NY winters, it was going to need over $3,000 in repair work just to pass NYS inspection. Also the bed needed to be replaced and the driver's side rear floor was soft, the rockers were shot. Typical for the numbers of years that it was a daily driver.
Anyways, ended up picking up my current ride which is a 2010 F150 FX4 Super cab, 5.4 3V, 6 spd. trans, 4X4, 3.73 E-Locker, short box. I am going to leave it stock, but add a few things to make it mine. Here are some pics that I took a day after picking it up.

Well I have had the truck now for about 2 weeks. I am loving it and am impressed with how much different the newer trucks are compared to the older ones.
Was doing some research over the weekend on some mods that I would like to do to the new truck. Here is the list:
Seat covers
Bed cover
Window vent visors
Rear wheel liners
After some discussions with my wife, it was decided (she told me to do this first...lol) to get some seat covers. In my old truck, the fabric on the outside edge of the seat wore through from getting in and out of it. I was leaning towards getting some of the Carhartt seat covers from Covercraft, but they are close to $500 for the front and rear seats. Also they are only available in the standard brown/tan and charcoal. My interior is black with silver accents on the dash and console.
What do you guys think about this color combination with my interior. The covers are black with charcoal grey inserts. I think that this combination will look nice with the interior and the charcoal grey picks up the accent color on the wheel well flares. I can also get them in black with a light grey insert. I feel that this would not look right unless it was really close to the silver accent trim color. These are made from neosupreme so they should be quite durable.
Here is the black/charcoal combination. The black/grey combination is in the next post.

The seat covers would look pretty good Neil. I would recommend maybe a leveling kit at some point. ( I went with the one from Hell Bent Steel. Was a reasonable price for the kit. )
And these are the vent visors I went with. Install was pretty simple. No tools needed.

I have never understood why people put seat covers on a beautiful new seat!! All I can think of is that you are saving it for the next owner !! Put your money into improvements .
Think about it! You paid (or are paying) for it - enjoy it's beauty NOW. Cover the mistakes later.

BTW, if I stay on course with my vehicles there will be no other owner of this truck. My plan is to keep it as long as I can until the cost for repairs or time (rust) makes it unsafe to drive.

Take a look at Husky floor mats. A coworker has a buddy that has the Weather tec mats in his truck and they have a high edge on the outside that is a pain when getting in and out of the truck. I looked at the Husky's before getting this truck and they seem to have a nice "well" to keep the crap on the liner and looks to be real easy to get your feet in and out.
