Morning folks...I have been throwing up sick since 04:00 sat am. 24 hr bug I guess? And I had to go to work yesterday afternoon for a bit. The rain is wreaking havoc on the city's roads/ditches and sewer system. It going to be a busy next couple of weeks with repair work.
At least I quit getting sick some time this early am, and manages to hold down some food and I just got back from work.. again. Hope everyone is staying safe and dry, and everything work out for the best.
Dave address the drainage first (or lack there of it?). Culvert time here and there maybe? Then 3" or maybe even 4" clean base rock, followed by 1" dirty base when the rain stops.

Seriously ticked off right now. The water has barely receded enough for the boys to go check on the car and they get way-laid by tow truck drivers trying to strong arm them into having it towed to a shop for repairs. It's covered by insurance they say without knowing that even if I have towing coverage. Sheesh - its like vultures on a carcass. I know the car has to be moved, but I don't like the way their trying to bully people into it.
It has been reported to the school, but there's not much they can do other than to report to authorities.

You might be surprised on the flood car. Often draining fluids and washing interior will get them back up and going. I use to see several of then coming through the salvage pool and see them cleaned up and on the market later. Would need to disconnect the wiring connections and dry then and reinstall

Dave. Let me know if I can help. I have to take Tiff in for her colonoscopy in the morning, but the rest of the day is a reset day in the shop. Gotta clear out the monster truck stuff and set up to catch up on some paying customers.
The gravel lot beside me and the road in front of my shop where under 5 feet of water when we got home from the Bigfoot open house. I went the long way around so I could swing wide in to the driveway, but couldn't get there from here. I had to back up the entire loop street with Mongo and the 40' trailer in the dark, in the pouring rain. That was fun. Then I got hung up in the driveway pulling in. I gave up and had Tiff come and get me. I unloaded Earthquake this morning and drug Mongo and the trailer the rest of the way in to the lot. One of the neighbors tried to drive through that mess yesterday and lost his truck in the process. When we came home last night, I could still see his tail lights. Today the water came up and was over the bottom of the glass in the truck. They were using kayaks to try and get whatever they could out of the truck.
Interesting side note. .....Earthquake floats! Yep. I tired the truck up and floated him in the flooded road. It doesn't get around very well because the lugs on the front tires are worn, but it doesn't get stuck in high water, that's for sure!

Be careful Dave, I hope you get to your son, and his car with no issues.
Alan, floating Earthquake. Hell yes!
I'm finally back on line. I went several days where I couldn't sign in, or even allow me to change my password.
Today Tim is working half a day, and his last day. Then this afternoon we'll start in the attic bringing down what box's a junk that we have up there. Mostly it's Christmas stuff, imagine that.
