Manual transmission oil change

I've got an 86 with a manual 4 speed. Does this thing have a drain plug? I've seen the full but no drain. Thanks in advance!

Which transmission do you have? One of the granny 4 speeds or a 4 speed with overdrive?

A few ways to tell.
The sticker on the door has codes on it 1 being a trany code.
Go to Gary's site and find the certification label decode to see what the truck came with.

Get under and check to see if the trany has a plate bolted on the side for a PTO.

Can you post up a picture of the shift lever and I can match it up to either one of mine
and tell you what you have.

sounds good Dave I'll check out about that code. I did see a transmission tag on the passenger side. I didn't see any drain plug just the fill so I siphoned out the old stuff and put new in. The fill plug was angled upwards on the passenger side. Nonetheless I would like to find out what transmission I have.

Yep good bet it is.
IIRC there was another post asking the same thing about a drain plug and think it was also a 3sp with OD.

Also think they did the same thing and sucked the old oil out.

thanks Dave sounds good. I still got a gallon of gear oil left so I'll just drive it for a while and change it again!
