ZF5 for E40D swap anyone?

got a 95 F250 w/ a 97 7.3 powerstroke turbo diesel, ZF 5 speed trany that sometimes has a little trouble getting into reverse.

I'm restoring the truck & would like to swap the ZF5 for an E40D. I'll include dual mass flywheel, which I just had cleaned & resurfaced at machine shop, shifter (and associated parts) and linkage

I know the ZF5 is better but its easier for me launch the boat w/ an auto vs manual.

so...I'm looking to see if anyone out there would like to swap.

I'm in Bloomfield, Indiana.

Also, anyone who may have done before...any lessons learned you'd like to share?!

Much appreciated
John

There are several threads covering that swap. Might help if you at least give your state then people can make contact for specifics

Eh, $ for $ a stick is easier than an auto just because you don't have worry about it as much once mods start but there are times (not many) when I would prefer an auto

smh...not a chance. . . once you get to buy a dualdisk clutch and some hard parts that zf vs auto is just about the same price.

You couldn't give me a zf tho. Couldn't pay me either.
