It's never just one thing

started out just replacing the heater core, ended up pulling the entire box to clean and de-rust everything (evapo-rust is awesome). Knew the temp was bad so might as well change that, and while I'm there better clean the instrument cluster. also removed what was left of the a/c vent ducts. Not sure what I'll do next

went a head and pulled the air diverter box, split it and cleaned everything. Got all the heater all reinstalled. tore instrument cluster apart and cleaned it up, then removed the blue light cones & installed led bulbs.

....Yeupp! Years ago, I started with a clutch adjustment...then noticed a small oil leak from the pan. Dropped the pan and felt a wee bit of play in one con rod...You guessed it - yanked the motor and rebuilt it. OCD?

Excellent progress, don't forget to spruce up your needles with some fresh florescent orange paint.

I hear ya. I noticed that my front diff was leaking gear oil so I decided to fix the seal. Here is my Dana 44 fresh back from powder coating, all purchased all new bearing seals, joints, premium warn hubs, ring and pinion ect. The small oil leak should be good now.

After that investment, in sweat and treasure, it wouldn't dare leak...

If I did that I would find out that it was a crank seal leak afterwards.

I personally don't call it OCD.......I call it being a good mechanic.......being observant and constantly looking for problems BEFORE they happen.......preventative maintenance always pays off.......especially if it is on something you care about and will be keeping for a long time

Mine was with the carb. First carb, then new steel lines to carb, but wait, changed fuel pump first so that steel lines would not have to be done again. Oh yeah, what about the fuel selector switch not working. Aw, the hell with it! 38 gal gas tank later, I know exactly what you mean. Nice look to the new panel.
