Hellwig rear anti-sway bar not for 1997?

The Hellwig 7529 rear anti-sway bar is not advertised as fitting the 1997 Aerostar. Has any forum member here used this bar on a 97 Aerostar? I find it strange that it would not fit the 97, but maybe there is a reason why it won't. If it actually will fit, the online sellers don't know it.....

I don't know enough about any differences between the rear end of the 1997 vs my 1990 model to provide a good answer. But I'll offer this: The rear of the Helwig bar attaches to the axle with a pair of clamps that grab onto the axle tube. The front arms attach to the lower control arms through a link that goes through a metal bar that's clamped to the control arm. If the axle tube changed, or the lower control arms changed, the Helwig clamps my not work.

There is no reason it won't work, there was no change. I used to have a '97 with a Hellwig anti sway bar.

Thanks for clearing it up, it does work. But, just today I find out from one of Hellwig's suppliers, after he spoke to Hellwig customer service rep today, that the Aerostar sway bar has been discontinued. Any online listings for it are null and void. No more will be manufactured, ever. That leaves only Addco as a manufacturer of sway bars for the Aerostar. The only Hellwig bars will have to be second hand units pulled from salvage vehicles. Or, if an individual has one sitting on their shelf that was never installed. Not sure which way I will go. Anyone here who has one of the Addco sway bars care to share your experience with it? It's 1 1/4" in diameter as compared to the 7/8" diameter bar of the now orphan Hellwig bar.
