There's a Ford salesman/sales manager in PA who runs a YouTube channel called AutoVlog and he discussed this exact issue. A/X/Z plans are not authorized for purchasing a Raptor, nor are dealers allowed to discount them, apart from selling them at invoice (good luck on that one). Fast forward to the 10:45 mark for the breakdown.

Dealers are allowed to discount them but we got folks beating down our doors begging to pay full sticker.

OP -- IMHO...I would have just asked to put in another order. Ok...let me justify what I just said.

Back in 2012...I placed an order for a 2012 F250 Superduty. Did it over the phone with a dealer...and thought we got the truck right. When I went in to take delivery...OOPS!! They forgot to add a package (forget what it was called) that included the heated/cooled seats. I refused the truck.

Not to worry, because the dealer sold that truck in less than a week. No joke either!!

I am glad that I noticed the missing package, because if I would have signed...I would have been angry beyond belief.

Long story short...I then went into the dealer...and placed another order! We checked and double checked...and I got "my perfect" 2012 F250 Superduty!!

I think you're probably stuck waiting for '18 regardless of what you'd want to do, and hey, next years model is always better right?
Curious if you figured out where you may have read or heard about Raptor production.
I placed my order (with almost full payment for the truck) Feb 3rd and was told on March 29th that the order had just be "picked up" by Ford. Still no VIN...
...
I wonder when I will get my truck and what year it will be....

Sorry I did try looking for it. So it might be inaccurate.
