I agree and I voted for trump and I hope he does great things but cutting the EPA to the point of it affecting emissions on vehicles that companies have already spent millions into getting them perfectly lined up with the engines etc. I don't see it. I don't see a company back peddling when it can cause the company bad publicity from the left and my generation that is extremely eco friendly

No need to remove what is already in place. The trucks are getting more reliable as time goes on with the emissions in place. It would be nice for the automakers to have a chance to breathe though. Give em a few years to possibly see if they could accomplish the same emissions standards without using certain methods or equipment. With how far common rail injection has come in the last 10 years, who knows what is possible.

Agreed though! This sounds perfectly reasonable.

Think of how gas motors were in the '70's with the energy crisis and emissions. It was a jungle under the hood.
I said it in 2008 with the first generation of DPF's that it would get better with more experience and expertise. It has.
there is no rolling back, just keeping in place. This will allow the technology to mature and become a more refined process.
Once that takes place I believe you will either see a reduction in components or a reduction in size.
