Is this normal? The idle stays up then goes a few seconds after I give it throttle. The solenoid holds the idle up then releases. I just rebuild the carb but it did the same thing before. I also replaced all the plug caps and vac tested lines. Also checked the intake manifold for air leaks. New carb base gaskets also.
The truck is in operating temperature and was driven 20 minutes.
87 300 carter yfa.

Bump, gonna smog and don't know if this is an issue or normal.

 

That is a '80-86 dash. An '87 would be fuel injected so what year is the the truck? Might want to try in the '80-86 forum.
