March 2t017 Monthly Chat

A new month is upon us.
Hump day is here !!

Your right Bob! We have another transmission job coming in on Thursday and they already told us we are doing it. We have a Cat reman transmission coming in so it will be a pull and replace and should go fairly quickly.

Looks like I can't spell at 4 AM.

I think there were only 5 cars not damaged. We drove past the track Sat, there were already people there. I think one guy is living in the front campground. Every time I go by there one camper is always there.

Chief
I agree about the crazy people and want you give your stuff away, but we all try to get the best deal. Once you get good a doing the transmissions, the rash of bad transmissions will stop and a rashort of something else will show up.

Yesterday was day one of road warrior week left here about 8 headed North. There was a 4 car accident on 75 that took almost an hour to clear. Trailer brakes were locking up at even a slight touch coming back traffic was bad as always.

I disconnected the brakes, I think it is the controller with sensitive all the way down and just a touch on the brake pedal they would lock up. The trailer is only 6 months old. But I did get a 50 gallon diesel transfer tank and pump for a 100. Yeah no more holding up the 5 gallon can. Also got 2 sections of 18" x 20' double wall HDPE driveway culvert for 300. If Yall need to replace your's let me know the guy had 34 more of them. They used them to drain a pond.

Today is day two of road warrior week off to Lithia Springs to get the pipe for the creek. It 36" x 18' poly resin reinforced concrete is about 2800#

Bob
At least we know how to drive a manual, most people now would not know how. I still remember the 3 on the tree pattern.

If he had not mentioned the jail TV wonder how many people would realize it was a jail toilet. I use to work for a company that made priestess concrete they made jail cells as well as bridge trusses and large support columns

I am going to need a piece of pipe but it's going to be 6 feet high by probibly 30 feet long.

The storm was not as much as all the warnings I got on my phone. Here it last maybe 30 minutes with some rain and a little lightning.

You are talking serious money . New 36 inch concrete is about 30 a foot. Why so big? Could you do 36 side by side.

The road and everybody in the neighborhoods water run off goes thru it, my driveway is over it. When it rains a lot that 6 foot pipe is almost full. The bottom is rusting out and slowly eating away the sides. Once it dies up some and water stops flowing thru it I am going to put some concrete in there till I replace the pipe.

You guys can keep being out in the country. I loved it once a long time ago, but don't miss all the repair work, caring for the horses, and being held hostage to the farm. Sooner or later, I'll teach my second grandson to cut the grass.

Funny this came up now. I was watching Fox 5 and their health segment was about the same subject. Some study found living in the city was healthier, I keep the low stress rual life and no HoA. The only critters for us are the dogs and cats.

No city living for me, and NO HOA either. Small country sub division, 30 minutes to the mountains, 5 minutes to the lake. As I have said before, don't take much to keep this ole boy happy.

I do have neighbors at the land we are just spread out a little. all the lots must have 250 road frontage house min 100 ft off rd 30 ft from sides 40 from back line. we can have county water or a well. Dollar General , gas satation, Subway and Little Ceasers 2 miles away. Lale Jackson dam 5 miles, Fire department about 3 miles but everything else is 10 to 15 we can have certain live stock, but I got enough moths to feed. It i is hard enough to get away with just dogs and cats

I love it where we are at, small town and only 20 minutes to Rome. No HOA and no one even close to my house.

I do not like traffic, but enjoy driving. I will average 1000 miles a week, and as long as I can stay away from ATL, everything is fine. Idiots are everywhere, in Gainesville this afternoon there was a car in the left lane wanting to turn left. You would think that they would get in the turn lane. NO, stopped dead in the left lane. Maybe we need to take a full driving exam every four years to make people know the rules of the road. Tomorrow will be a 250 to 300 mile day so I will see all kinds of stupidity. Enjoy the weekend boys.
