I need to get an elbow that connects the return line to the check valve. Just guessing it's a 3/8 male npt to I believe a 1/8 male not. Am I right? Thanks

 

Uh... Not sure exactly where you are talking about. Which check valve?
There is a check valve on the filter head(1/8 npt thread), and the black part on top of the IP where the return line connects is /also/ a check valve of a sort.

It was the one on the pump. I broke the 1/8 side off but I drilled and tapped it for 1/8 NPT and put a close nipple in and got it back together. BTW, you were right on my timing issue. I moved the pump about 1/16th and running improved but it's still having issues around 2500 rpm. I'm going to move it a little farther and see what happens. What I found was somebody timed it before me and barely tightened one bolt so the pump moved. Thanks
