Thanks for your reply. I'm taking the door hardware, rubber seal and chrome down to the shop today. Cab should be coming home soon. May get some photos today.

I'm running 73-79 body mount hardware and urethane bushings. You have to drill out the frame perches. It raises the body up some but it's pretty stout.

I installed these mounts on my 1960 4x4 this weekend and they seemed to work fine. They we're a bit taller than the original squashed mount that came out of the driver's side and a bit shorter than the original mount from the passenger side. I won't know how it lines up for sure until I get the front clip on.

seacar, you do yours yet?

I also received the universal mounts but have not received my cab yet. Considering the deformed mounts that came off, I think the universals will work just fine. No bolts came with the new mounts. All of my front end has been disassembled so I'll be looking forward to hearing how yours lines up. Keep in touch.

I'm a bit concerned about the height of the cab with these bushings. There's only 1/2" between the cab and the frame at the back of the cab. Anybody know how much space a 4x4 should have?

The back of cab is 1/2 inch for mine as well. Allows for flex of the frame The floor sits up a little higher. When you put your bed on there is a line that follows from the cab to the bed. Any pics? Would like to see the height.

4x4

I'm using the bushings listed above and they are pretty soft. My cab is still empty so I'm worried the cab might bottom out with a seat and people in it. .

i tried the mounts SeaCarr suggested and I believe they are not tall enough. I had to shim my rad support up an inch to get the fenders to line up with the doors this weekend and it wasn't until this morning that I realized it was probably the cab mounts. I may call energy suspension and see if they can find me a taller version.

Very interesting. I have not tried the ones I purchased. Been too hot to work. Keep us posted. There's a lot of interest I think.

So I been searching through these old post I will say a lot of good info here!!
What makes the size of the 4X4 mounts different then the 2WD mounts?
Reason I ask is I have a 59 2WD that the floor boards were shot on but the rest of the cab was great I found a 4X4 cab that the floor boards were in much better shape than the one I had but the roof of the cab had some major issues. I separated both the upper cabs from the lower section and repaired the better of the 2 floor boards (the 4X4 floor) and will be putting the top part on the opposite floor board.
I am keeping the same 2WD short bed frame. One thing I noticed about the 4X4 frame is it has more support in different location then the 2WD one.
So is it the cab supports that are different or the frame? or something else?

I bought a set of the carpenters for 2wd and they look to be the same. I’d do a photo comparison but I already shoved the rears under the cab as I work on the front. Where I think the 4wd set is different is the rad support arrangement on the 4x4. Some one can correct me if I’m wrong. I’m still thinking of a 1 or 2 inch body lift as well.

Cab

Rear cab mounts taller, front mounts have a couple extra squares of rubber for 4x4’s.
