Blue Spring or New Fuel Pump

Hello Powerstroke Gods,
I have replaced back to back injectors within 2 weeks (#7, then #8). I was curious if low fuel pressure was killing injectors so I hooked up a gauge to the upper filter bowl test port.
Reading 50PSI at KOEO and at idle.... and during any driving other than WOT.

At WOT, I can get it down to 39PSI, but the gauge bounces back to 50PSI as soon as I come off the accelerator.

Upper Filter has 300 miles on it and lower has 1000.

Should I upgrade to Blue spring or replace fuel pump?... or both?... or something I have not thought of?

Thoughts?

P.S. Changed bad FICM 3000 miles ago and I am now running the Atlas 40 tuned FICM from Ed at FICMRepair.com.

Without much else to go on, like how many miles on your truck, what you know of its history, etc.

Do the Bluespring update and recheck your FP readings after. If you don't have any cracks in the cover, just get the spring kit with gaskets, like this one:

Ford Fuel Pressure Regulator Blue Spring Kit - Riffraff Diesel Performance

Good folks to deal with too...

Your WOT pressure is too low...

Well said! Why mess with the pump first when you would still need the updated spring - even after a new pump.

I would do the blue spring ASAP! You're in the danger zone starving the injectors just at an idle. After you do the blue spring if you're still dipping below 50 it's time for a new HFCM. You can change out just the pump or get the pump and housing as a unit. If you opt for the combo, the new one will eliminate the heating element inside of the HFCM which was an idiotic move by the aftermarket dummies out there. Good luck!
