Camper shell, bed rug, plastic liner, 5th wheel

Hey all, so I bought an '01 F250 that had the following setup:

5th wheel mounting bars
Plastic drop in liner, cut out in the middle for the 5th wheel bars
Bed rug, to cover up the bars / hole in the plastic liner

I have put a camper shell on it.

My problem is this:
I would like to keep the 5th wheel bars just in case. They're there, no sense in just taking them out.
I also think the plastic drop in liner was a really bad idea, especially since you cut the middle, it's just going to collect water.

The big bed rug is just that a cover.

My biggest concern is the overall long term rusting. Thankfully, from what I can tell, there isn't any rust under the bed liner. I've been working on cleaning all the stuff out from under it that's collected over the years.

Just wanting some opinions. Should I pull out the plastic liner and just get a roll-on kit, or should I just leave it knowing with the camper shell on it, I won't be getting moisture under the liner any more?
