AC condenser hood lactch clearance issues

Hey
everyone I am working on adding AC to our 1974 f100. I have a condenser that fits the Radiator perfectly. The issue I am having is the hood latch post that runs down center of the radiator opening hits the condenser so I will need to modify it. What have others done to solve this? Is there a different bracket or post. Thanks

I measured out my trans cooler and condenser to go on either side of that bar. I would avoid modifying that if possible. A hood latch failure during an emergency could be catastrophic. I remember a thread about a month ago from a guy who's hood latch failed during an engine fire, ruined the whole cab.

Below is where I am at with the AC install. the condenser runs the with of the radiator. I am thinking of cutting the radiator side of the latch post and weld a plating on the forward face to restore the rigidity.
