turn signal help
65 f100 (manual) 3 on tree, flare side
turn signal will not work on right rear
no rear lights with purchased truck so not sure if ever worked
did the following
* rebuilt column with new turn signal switch from D Carpenter
* Finally figured out wire
* installed set of tail lights from donor bed
* new flasher module
*****
* turn on head lights/tail lights work
* tryleft turn signal ( front and rear blink)
* try right turn signal ( front works, but not rear)
* switched bulbs ( left works and right does not, so not the bulb)
* flasher module works
any insight will be much appreciated

Brake lights and signal lights use the same wiring. If you jump the brake light switch and the right one doesn't work I'd start with the yellow/black wire leading to the bulb. Make sure the contact is clean and then check for any breaks in the wire. If after jumping the brake switch you find that the right light works that would eliminate the contact and yellow/black wire. Follow the diagram and check the remaining wires. Again, make sure the key switch is on as brake and signal lights will not work otherwise.

Thanks for response,
i checked it all out to ensure continuity and etc.
as mentioned in my first post, I rebuilt the column to include a switch from denise carpenter.
i still had the old one and hooked up the wires and it worked like a champ so its a bad switch or at least the rt signal connection is not connecting.
so now for my 2nd question
anyone have good experience with aftermarket switches?
i will see if a broken wire or solder is bad, but i know there are other vendors out there.
i cant use the old one as it has broken pieces.
thanks for all the input

C9TZ-13341-C (replaced C5TZ-13341-A) .. T/S Switch / Obsolete
1965/66 F100/250 2WD; 1966 F100 4WD; 1967/68 F100/350; 1969 F100/350 before serial number D96,001.
CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 1,450 = 800-476-9653.
Carpenter bought all these NOS switches from FoMoCo after they obsoleted it. So is he selling these genuine Ford switches, or a repro switch made in China?
Genuine Ford switch has a paper tag looped over the wires with an ID number printed on it.

Ground is a good suspect. Here's a thread where I walked Chuck through the troubleshooting steps and his was a bad ground. Might be worth a quick read anyway, in case it helps you, too.

if I'm understanding I'm not attaching wire just seeing what the negative reads at the back of truck on the wire?
what is stumping me is if I put the old switch on it works

Ya, I usually look at ohms first when dealing with a grounding or suspected grounding issue or other electrical issues. The battery doesn't need to be hooked up as at first I'm only dealing with the wiring and the voltage signal comes from my meters 9V internal battery.
But, yours sounds like the new switch has something to do with it or some pins are not making good connections on the new switch once you plug it in.
You can bench test the switch possibly, too, if you have a meter. I look for ways to simulate what the switch does when installed and I can usually reproduce the same problem with the part not installed on the truck. Like, I can activate the left and right turn signals by manually rotating the turn signal cam one way or the other and checking that it completes the internal circuit by testing the ohms on the external wires. Stuff like that.
