I was tickled by a recent article in the Hemming's Classic Car magazine about a 1957 International S-120 Civil Defense truck and was wondering if Ford vehicles were ever used for the Civil Defense. Google searches don't really produce the results I was hoping for so I figured I'd ping you all here to see if anyone had knowledge of such a vehicle. If so, educate me! I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a new project and, if Ford made such a vehicle, then that's the vehicle I will be looking for!

 

The Civil Defense got their equipment from many places including State, Fedral & Military disposals so it would stand to reason that some of our trucks would have been utilized by the Civil Defense folks. Another place you might get some ideas are from the old timers at Volunteer Fire Departments. While it's a long shot you could get some leads.
