I don't believe you do have to prime the injectors. You may be thinking of priming the oil system. If you manually fill the oil rails on each side of the engine, then make sure the HPOP reservoir level is about 1/2" from the top you should be good.

There is no priming. Just keep cranking until it eventually fires. I usually crank for 15-20 seconds, let it rest for a few minutes to cool the starter, then try again. 3 or 4 times doing that it should fire, stumble and run rough for a minute, then start smoothing out. You'll see smoke out the tailpipe for a while. Just take it for a 20 minute drive to clear things out.

You did evacuate the cylinders right? When you pull an injector all the fuel and oil runs into the cylinder. It needs to be evacuated before you crank or you'll seriously risk hydrolock.

I killed every bug in my neighborhood when I cranked my truck after having the injectors out. Neighbors still talk about that all the smoke !

Just cycle the key on and off several times and that activates the fuel pump each time (same as when you change your fuel filter) filling your system with fuel.

You have a mechanical pump. Unplug your injector GP harnesses turn your truck over for 20 sec. Wait and repeat process then plug your harnesses back up or you could pull fuel through the return line with the Schrader valve on the filter housing you want to have fuel in the injectors to keep from damaging your tips no dry start
