2015 Sport tow package question
Hi guys.
I am new to the Explorer, and am trying to understand some things about the Tow Package. From what I have read here, the 2015 Sport models all have the Class III Tow Package standard. Does that include the additional Engine Oil & Tranny Fluid Coolers? I see it has sway control, but not the brake controller.
Per this brochure, it kinda left me a bit confused & needing clarification.

Thanks!

Well, my '14 Sport had the Class III hitch as an option so I ordered it. I appears from the brochure that the '15 has it standard. Regardless, if it has the factory Class III towing package it gets the tranny cooler. The engine oil cooler is standard on the 3.5 to keep from cooking the turbo bearings. If you look under the vehicle, that's the purpose of the duct on the passenger side leading from the air dam to the oil filter area. It provides cooling for the oil cooler.

gotcha, the tow package seems to make a point about it having one, so I wasn't sure if I was understanding correctly. sounds like a giveaway would also be the 7-pin connector too.
Class III Trailer Tow Package includes engine oil cooler and 7-/4-pin wiring harness (n/a with 2.0L EcoBoost engine)
so it appears all I need is a brake controller & I have the 5000lb tow capacity by default on a 2015, but the 2013 & 2014 models had it optional. I'm finding it a little tricky to find one I need with the older models.
Thanks!
