5th Wheel Hitch Question -2011 moving to '17

I have a 2011 250 with a Reece 5th wheel hitch. I've ordered a new 2017 Crew Cab Lariat with the 5th wheel prep factory option. Anyone know if my existing hitch that's in the bed of the 2011 truck, will be a simple plug and play with the new truck?

Thanks!

Is it a Reese Signature or Reese Elite series 5th wheel hitch?
And as for the rails on the 2011, are they Ford OEM or Reese system?

After crawling around in the bed of my truck to find a part number, here's the link to my hitch.

Rails are Reese.

You would need an adapter for that hitch to work with the OE prep. The OE prep is the Reese Elite.

I'm a bit "non mechanical" so pardon my relative ignorance.

Exactly. Don't even bother removing them from the old truck. The adapter locks down into the factory prep puck system, then your hitch pins into the adapter.

Here is the Ford version.
5th Wheel Rail Mount Adaptor Kit | The Official Site for Ford Accessories

Keep in mind your current hitch has to work with the adapter. You can ask a question on Etrailer.com and they can confirm for you.

I have the Reese adaptor. Works just fine as long as you do not have a plastic bed liner. Some minor modifications are necessary to make the Reese adapter sit above the plastic liner.

Thanks for the help. Like that etrailer price much more than what Ford wants.

There are a couple places cheaper than etrailer so once you order, contact etrailer with a link to the lower price. They will then refund you 110% of the difference in price making them the best deal. Here's one that's a couple bucks cheaper.

Reese Fifth Wheel Rail Kit Mounting Adapter for the Ford 4 Puck System - Free Shipping.

You could find a used Reese elite hitch for about the same cost of the adapter. I bought mine for $250 on CL
