95 f150 5.8L GT40 heads?
I have a 95 f150 5.8L that needs a head job.
I have been thinking about buying a set of GT40 iron heads for it.
Not to spend much money on this thing, I just want to make it somewhat better.
I have noticed the bar 3 GT40 heads are what I would need, but from what I have found; they do not have the smog pipe hook-ups on the rear.
Are there bar 3 gt40 heads with the smog? Is there away around this, without getting a check engine light?
Thanks for the help.

You will not trigger a Check Engine Light (CEL) with GT40 heads and no air injection port access. You will fail one or two of the Key On Engine Running (KOER) tests. But again, there will be no CEL if you leave the TAB/TAD solenoids electrically connected.
If you live in California the KOER test fails will disqualify you.

So just bolting on a set of rebuilt gt40 bar 3 heads and not using the smog air tube on the back will not affect the running of the truck? I'm in WV, and don't care about the smog ****. I do however care how the truck runs. I get around 14mpg right now, run non ethanol and amsoil every 3000. It just needs a major valve guide job.

Just to clarify, would a 2 way converter be the way to go instead of a 3-way (& completely remove the system)? The pump would still provide air downstream just not upstream to the heads.

I am thinking about GT40 heads and a cam in the next couple months. I am also thinking of throwing on the shorty headers and replacing the converter at the same time since the muffler rusted through.
