Am I the only one that can't stand the traction control system?

How do you guys turn off traction control? I just got a 13 6.2 and I HATE the traction control while I'm plowing. Every time I turn it off it comes right back on in no time. It drives me crazy. I've gotten stuck a couple times because of it during this past storms and I haven't been stuck in a couple years. I absolutely hate the tsc system. I even would hold down the button until it said advance Trac was off and within a few passes everything f would come back on..

I would think traction control from would make it better in the snow, it makes it SO much worse. I absolutely love the truck but this has to be the worse function I can find on the truck.. with the dbw tuning being second.
I also just order some tunes from 5 star, will they be able to turn it off? The form I filled out asked and I said to turn it off but it seemed to imply that not all trucks can have it turned off.

It has never done me any favors, just some grief a few times this winter. I took off from an intersection in 2wd, wheels just spun, too much ice, so I grabbed the tcase and pulled into 4x4..... nothing, somehow the traction control was keeping my truck from 4x4 operation. Basically, I looked like an idiot sitting at a green light just spinning the rear tires in my 4x4. I finally let off the gas long enough for the traction control light to go off, then the 4x4 worked. Luckily you're getting a tuner from 5star to keep it off. Post up when you get the tuner and how they turned it off.

To be short, no, you're not the only one that hates it.

First thing I do after starting my truck is shut traction control off. It's a big PITA especially when you are plowing snow. Maybe in the future I'll get a tuner and maybe it will disable that thing.

I try to, but it always turns itself back on. Within minutes, it never stays off.. is that normal?

That's not normal. If I shut my traction control off it stays off until I put it on again.

Could it have to do with going from forward to reverse while plowing? I know if you lock out 6th gear, then take it out if drive, when you go back, 6th is unlock.

I have mine off and do so with the SCT Tuner from 5Star. Down here in the Florida sand it is a real pain as well. When I press the gas, if I want the wheels to spin, gosh dangit, they'd better spin!

When in a stock tune, even if I turned the TC off, when there was wheel slippage, the truck would activate the TC. That's normal.

I seem to remember reading in the manual that once you hit a certain speed the AdvanceTrac turned itself back on? Is that right? Now I am going to have to break out the manual again...

After a quick search, apparently you can splice a switch into the left front wheel speed sensor wiring to disable the advance track, some have utilized one of the upfitter switchs for it.

That's cool, I had seen where people were disabling it on f150's, but hadn't seen anything on the superduty's.

Curious, did you put in 4x4 with your wheels spinning?

They may have been, but not under any gas pedal pressure. I think there is some electronic function that was causing this to happen to me.
