Looking at picking up a 62 f250 2wd v8 auto, price is cheap and it runs and drives. Needs brakes and a radiator, body is covered in surface rust but looks pretty sweet as is

I know NOTHING about these trucks. I did a little research with little to no success. All I know is I love the way it looks. I see they were only made for a few years. I'm wanting to go look at it so I'd appreciate all the info/issues to look for, common rust spots ect

I read that the v8 was a 351, Cleveland?

 

1961/63 F100/250 = 4th digit of the VIN is the engine code: C = 292 2V; J = 223 1V I-6

351C not factory installed in trucks, was introduced in 1970, used thru 1974 in Ford/Merc Passenger Cars.

 

Thanks for the info, I was finally able to get a few more pics out of the guy and the bed has quite a few silver dollar sized rust holes in it but the cab floor is in decent shape. Some pitting but it's solid none the less.

He's asking 1000 bucks, not really sure what these trucks are worth, he said it has a 292, needs exhaust gaskets. I figured maybe a minifolds cracked and just go with some headers..
