Transmission Cooler Lines FSA

I logged into the Ford owners site and noticed I had a Field Service Action on my truck to repair the transmission cooler lines. Is this the same as a recall? Has anyone else got this for their truck? Is it for the issue some of you have had on this forum? I googled it but couldn't find anything about it.

BTW, here is the info that popped up.

FSA Title: TRANSMISSION FLUID COOLER TUBES REPAIR
Field Service Action Number: 17B03

Get it in, must be an early build, mine was built September 26th, never noticed fluid in driveway, towed gooseneck to Atlanta and back just south of Tampa, leaked enough fluid that truck wouldn't move after I arrived home. Roadside Assistance picked up.

No, it isn't the same as a recall. Recalls are only done for safety or emissions. The FSA Action Number tells the story. The middle letter designates what it is. An S is a safety recall, an E is an emissions recall, and anything else is not a recall.

I got the same thing a couple weeks ago. Changed my oil this weekend and I have zero leaks. I will schedule mine in. Apparently if you take it in, and there is no leak, they have a quick 30 minute fix. if there is a leak, they replace the cooler lines.

I took mine in and no lead detected but curiously the dealer had not received the repair kit with the parts to fix it. Strange why Ford would not ensure all dealders had parts on hand before having appointments get set.

This, may ne was dry and it was just a quick bolt and washer replacement. If it is wet they replace the lines

I just got the same info. If there is no leak, easy fix, and they can order that part in advance. If there is a leak, longer fix, and they can't order that part until after they confirm a visual inspection. I asked the dealer to order the first part in advance so they can be prepared to fix it at the time of my upcoming service (assuming no leak).

Is this related to the problem some people were having with oil getting slung up above the driveshaft?

The truck I'm looking at was built 9/22 so it's probably in the FSA range. I wonder if the dealer has made the fix or if they will just wait for the owner to find the problem out.

I dont think so, the oil above the drive shaft could be the transfer case, I have had mine in 3 times so far for that, hopefully this last one fixed it. Id like to know how many more are experiencing this issue. My build date is in the right range, but of course they wont fixit unless I have the FSA issued or it leaks.

My transmission cooler line ruptured and blew fluid all over my exhaust and the white smoke went flying. Gary Smith Ford here in Fort Walton Beach, Fl fixed it after it sitting on their lot for a week. I got in my truck and started it and put it in drive and a I heard a loud clicking noise coming from my dash. Come to find out the new lines were rubbing against the motor. I gave it back and the fix was and I kid you not... they plastic zip tied the lines to the top of the oil filter assembly!! I am trying to find the proper repair manual or service letter showing how Ford is ordering the dealerships to fix these lines so I can take it back and get it fixed correctly before the plastic breaks from the vibration.
