BJ, I started my truck today. It popped right off! But as you know if you read my thread about One Step Forward and Two Back, I have another problem.

But to answer your question about oil to the rockers I was able to check that before I saw water leaking out at the thermostat housing. There is oil at the rockers. It is dripping out onto the little oil plates and also oil coming out of the overflow tubes.

Another question: on the one head the oil from the overflow tube is not hitting the hole totally. Not all the oil is going down the hole. Should I be concerned about this? Should I try to reposition the tube so it hits the hole better? Or should I leave it be?

thanks!

If any oil is getting down the hole you should be good. You could try to bend it to hit the hole better but you may want to leave well enough alone.

With my luck lately I'd better not try it. LOL!

Yes there is some oil going down the hole, but some was missing and gathering at the bottom of the head. But with the valve cover on it should not be a problem, right?

Abe, I'm sure you have seen the following Web page from John Mummerts Y block Web site. But just in case you haven't here it is. I addresses the head bolts. Click the blue Y below.

Thanks, Jim, but you have to read about troubles with the right head in my thread "one step forward, two steps back".
