interesting option on hitch, thoughts

I have currently a tt and use a Hensley Arrow (works as advertised!), and am looking at upgrading from my F150 and tt to a 250 and 5th wheel.

Have truck picked out but now have a decision to make on a hitch. I was dead set on the Anderson, but here comes the fun part.

Hensley will buy back my Arrow for $500 bucks and includes box and shipping.....sounds great right......or

they will give me $1000 off the BD1 (basically a BD3 rebadged). so the Hensley would go from 2295 to 1295......

Did I mention the Arrow has seen 11 seasons! lol

Weight is 160 vs 35, but air ride hmmmmm.......

Help! ha ha

If you are HAPPY enough doing the Hensley trade, go for it "IF" : you are still young enough to deal with the weight of that hitch and/or you don't even think about pulling it out of your truck when it's not in use.

At my age (hi 70's) I just could no longer handle the weight of a standard 5er hitch so I am VERY happy with the Anderson.

So - it all depends on your personal situation.

I go with the Anderson, not because I cannot handle a regular 5th wheel hitch, but because the Anderson will store away so much easier.

Get the Andersen and never look back.

Sell the Arrow and never look back again...

Be happy, have fun and live the good life.

... adding to the ^ post... you'll have extra cash in your pocket too from selling the Arrow.

I'm 33. Had a B&W companion slider (270lbs). Too heavy. Get an Anderson Ultimate aluminum. 35lbs. Super easy to deal with, pulls better then the B&W did, half the price. That's my experience.

There IS a Northwoods (makes the AF) dealer in PA but I've heard he doesn't keep any in stock except the truck campers. Mines pretty old (2007) but we love it.

I have been using the Hensley Trailer Saver TS3 since 2008. Love the ride this air hitch gives. Wouldn't have anything else. It is very heavy. The few times I have needed to take it out of the truck, I just pull the pins and raise the trailer. When ready to put back in lower it down in the truck.
