Thank you for the warm welcome, much appreciated.
I'm a born and raised Wyoming feller and almost as important, I've never owned anything other that Ford. Blue oval or bust, period.
My first pickup was a 1976 F250 2wd, 460-C6. I loved that truck and the dentside bug stayed with me for another 20 yrs. Now I've been able to scratch that itch with the 1977 highboy. 4wd being more usable than the '76's 2wd setup that I owned before.
Now, that 460 would easily embarrass the highboy's 351m in a side x side showdown however, there's just something satisfying about rowing your own gears in a manual truck.
I've been fortunate to own more Ford trucks than most at the age of 34 (approx. 12), I guess it truly is an addiction.
My username is aptly chosen as the highboy came from an extended family members ranch. It's got the normal ranch associated problems: i.e. front clip issues (cow nudging), box rust from hay/etc sitting in the bed for years at a time, driver side door replaced after an angry bovine decided to test it's durability, lots of err.... well.... Interesting(?) custom additions.
Ok, i'll quit babbling. Cheers all.

Currently, it has a LS1, 460hp, 430 torque (yes, I know.. Dark Side.. LOL!) built by Turn Key. All mated up to a 4L60E and an early Moser ford/edsel four link rear with 3:73's. It has gobs of power, and can get insane if you want to.. BUT.. the Old Buzzard and I have been thinking, I have a list of righteous ford motors I have been checking out and what transmissions to go with them, eventually, one of them is going to find it's way under the hood.

OH thank god. Might I suggest a Ford Racing 5.2L Aluminator XS properly mated to a Tremec T56 Magnum?
The work done is truly beautiful, that is a VERY nice truck.

I forgot to mention that the engine and trans application needs to tow a retro camper on occasion, sometimes for a long trip, so as much as I would love to install that, it would not work out too well.. LOL!

Lol. That was more me thinking out loud as to what I'd want (shooting for the moon you know). Heck a Windsor based stroker would probably do you well. Or, as much as I hate to admit this... an EcoBoost swap (450hp Raptor anyone) would be quite unique.
The retro camper idea is pretty sweet. Are you thinking AirStream or?
