Banks Turbo spewing exhaust?
Any ideas where the exhaust could be leaking? As it's idling smoke is coming out of the aluminium cover... The turbo is covered with the banks turbo intake air filter...
By any chance does anyone know or had problems with their turbo like this?

What aluminum cover? The heat shield on the turbo? Probably leaking at the pipe flange if early system or vband if newer. Could also be leaking at the pedestal to turbo joint. Start it when stone cold and put your hand around there feeling for the hot exhaust pulses leaking, should help identify the leak.

Um, I'm going to say look at the CDR and crankcase vent lines.
Also, you may want to look at the back of the motor, where the turbo oil drain is going.
The reason is that unless you are smoking out of the exhaust pipe(which indicates a timing problem usually), that same exhaust won't look like 'smoke' at the engine.
blow-by gasses, however... are definitely smoke colored and smell like oil. And an IDI produces a *lot*. They should be being sucked into the compressor side of the turbo, just after the air filter, where they end up in the intake and are burned cleanly in the engine.
