So I broke down and bought a very good condition '03 CC with the 6.0L and have a few questions. I know there have been some concerns with this particular PSD but I've read that many love this engine. I test drove many a vehicle (7.3's and 6.0's) and love the ride-ability of the newer trucks. Bought what I could afford and am happy with this purchase so far. So, that being said, what should I look for right now and what should I do to ensure that this Diesel lasts for as long as it can? Does it have to have the dealer proofing (bullet proofing) done to it if the regular maintenance is done? I'm not interested in making any mods to the engine that will shorten it's lifespan but would be interested in helping it run as efficient as possible while keeping it in tip-top shape. There were no oil leaks that I could find under the engine compared to some of the pieces of crap I looked at while looking for a new truck. It was fun to hear the backlash from all the stealership managers when I pointed out all the things wrong with their vehicles, like they knew anything about the inventory on their lot, ya know? One guy took offense that I would say his truck was leaking oil when it was just in the shop and his "guy" gave it a clean bill of health. Please, tell me his name so I don't ever take my truck to him! That pissed him off, real good. Yeah, sometimes I enjoy getting other people's feathers ruffled a bit, but only when they deserve it. Well, maybe that's not completely true. He he......
