Gauges and Radio die intermittently
Looking for some help!!
I recently bought a 2007 F-550 bucket truck with a 6.0 Diesel
Noticed the trucks gauge cluster and radio go on and off
And on top of that the entire truck died on me yesterday suddenly while driving and there was no power (no dome no lights no ignition not even a click completely dead)
When that happened I was searching for a large battery cable shorted or pinched under the omnivan body and didn't find anything, Removed batteries, charged with in minutes, re installed and everything came back on.......WTH

Probably a bad connection at the battery or bad cable. since pulling and replacing the battery without an extended recharge seems to have fixed it, it may have just been the terminals and is unlikely to be a hot short to ground. If you suspect the cables, peel back an inch or so of the insulation by the battery terminal, one of them is probably green inside. Also, check the small ground wire(s) from the battery to the body, from the engine to the firewall and those under the dash, any of those can make your gauges and radio die and come back... Hope this helps.
