When those pieces arrive, I will be basically finished with the engine "unless I can find another 4bbl intake for an amazing low price" and I will be moving on to the C4.
Grand plan is, get the engine and trans ready, then, when the are set to go in, pull old units from the truck, clean up and repaint the engine bay after adding the brake booster, front discs, front suspension w/bushings and all steering linkage, and when all that is done, I will probably add a coat of flat black epoxy primer, so I can start to block sand it and get it ready for paint.
Inside already has been stripped, epoxy primed, sound proofed and heat/cold/sound insulated. All interior parts...park brake assy, heater assy and such have been taken out, cleaned up and have had "parts enhancer" added to refresh the interior.
My neighbor is re-recovering my seat, headliner and door panels for me, again, because I didnt really like the black tweed interior...even cloth gets very hot here in the summer...which is usually Feburary to November in triple digits...so all that is being redone.
Hoping by fall at the latest to have it finished.
Well, as finished as these projects can ever get.
One is the thread for rebuilding the steering column. Will remove it from the truck and try to make it as new as possible...is coming out for paint anyway.
The other thread was for sway bars...I am interested in front for sure, and rear if it is feasible and helpful. When I install the engine and trans, while it is out I will being my disc brake upgrade, as well as cleaning and repainting the engine bay, and checking all the steering linkages, it has started seeming a little bit sloppy of late.
The column and sway bar or bars would be great add ons to do while other stuff is taken apart.
If anyone recalls where these threads are hiding, I would really appreciate a pointer in the right direction.
Thanks.
