Anyone using fiberglass rear fenders?

I seen stock width ones in fiberglass at mid 50 and was curious as to how the quality and fit is. I work at a shop that does spray in bed liners so I could have the guy spray them underneath. This could keep rocks from spider webbing the fiberglass.

I have the 3" wider than stock on my '54 F-100. I put 2 coats of bedliner on them before installation. Still have "stars" from rocks / road debris. I would consider fabbing some sort of inner fender to avoid them. Good luck, Steve

Fiberglass fenders that I have seen range in quality from good to marginal, it all depends on who did the layup and who did the final prep. I too have used 3M and U-Pol bedliners to coat the undersides of F/G fenders...I have yet to see any starring but there aren't to many gravel roads around here.

Hi Hafrod,
All (4) of our fenders are fiberglass. We haven't seen any issues -
they are beautiful & look great. We did coat the underside with bedliner & went with metal running boards.
We sourced all of our body stuff from Midwest Early Ford.

Good luck up there in Oklahoma (except in football). Show us some pics when you get a chance.

I have glass fenders all around, and the roads here are littered with rocks. No undercoating/bedliner and no stars. My glass is pretty heavy, made by the old Gibbons Co. (no longer in business).

I got mine from Bebop's Glass Works and they look great.

Just keep in mind that the fiberglass will be a lot thicker than the steel and stock fender bolts may be too short.

Terry's F100 Parts

Times 2 for Terry's F100 Parts in Stromsberg, Nebraska. Bruce is the fiberglass guy that makes the fiberglass parts. No shortage in quality here. He made and installed my new roof and big back window conversion for my '56.
