Grumman Olsen Kurbmaster help
#31
I have a construction company and I have a couple of employees that drive it regularly. It had a 3 speed originally that had a granny 1st so it was more of a 2 speed manual. Once we got the engine done, it became very obvious that the trans was killing our mojo. With the re-geared rear end and the 4 speed automatic, it cruises the freeway at 65 or so. It's definitely peppy off the line but I'm not over the moon impressed. I have added front disc brakes and a power brake booster and as much as I enjoy the original hot rodded look, in hindsight, I wish I had gone with a 4 cylinder Cummins or small block V8.

I bought a 1969 Grumman Olsonette. It has a Ford P350 chassis with an L6 in it. The engine runs rough. I'm replacing the carburetor for now. Also, it has no breaks.
I found the brake master cylinder, but I do not see the brake booster. Did these vans had a brake booster? If so, where is it located? It would have to be attached to the master cylinder. Right?
I.m planning to strip all the paint and polish the aluminum. I was told that I can use a gun that shoots sodium bicarbonate to do this without doing any damage to the body.
Looking to hear from the guys with experience on these vans.
