"I can only compare the 6.2L in SD to the 6.2L in the Raptor. It is essentially the same engine other than the cams (slightly less overlap for a smoother idle)."

My question is this. Has anyone here installed aftermarket cams on their 6.2? I have been banned from bringing up the "H" word.

I searched various threads. Maybe it is here somewhere. I am certain Competition Cams will make these. .....Low end torque....easy-to-install....

You haven't been banned from discussing headers. It's just that most of the folks in the 6.2 forum aren't interested in them, not to mention the fact that if there was much to be gained from aftermarket headers, there would be a bunch in the market. There ain't, so there ain't. I suspect it's much the same with cams. But you may get more information in a Raptor forum.

Hey Mining Guy, what are you going to be using this truck for? It's a big heavy truck that was designed to tow, you can make it run and tow better, but it will never be a Raptor or even as nimble as an F150. I get tring to maximize it's potential, I removed the stock muffler and small resinator, and replaced it with a MagnaFlow muffler. I left the big resinator for back pressure and to eliminate drone. I went with the 5star towing tunes. I'm happy and not spending any more on this truck as I believe anything more would have diminishing returns.

Performance Mods

This truck will typically be used for errands, vacations (I usually rent a trailer which my F-150 cannot easily tow). I also race cars, will trailer those around. I really like the looks of the Super Duty trucks.

This engine has been out a while and it appears that the common mods are: hand-held or mail order tunes, muffler replacement and straight pipes. I wanted to hear from people who tried other mods. I live at 6200' elevation, so I have to be careful.

I live near Army bases, and these guys modify the heck out of the Dodge Hemi/Chevy LT1 trucks. I am learning that forum members are not modifying the Super Dutys near as much.

turbocharger... even belt driven supercharger.

should be good for 100 hp.

both are good at elevation

. as for headers.... more trouble then they are worth for a daily driver. gaskets/rust/bolts loosen/etc. for what 5hp ...
.

The f150 supercharger will work on the superduty with custom tuning. Your looking at 10 grand by the time your finished unless the price on the supercharger has come down some. There is thread in this section with links and a discussion. What gears does your truck have? That might be the biggest bang for your buck.

Check out Livernois Motorsports.

They have heads and cams plus stroker engines to 6.6L.

I have a 2012 Raptor supercab with headers and a Whipple supercharger. The engine really is amazing but it dies once in a while. I would not cam my F250 if it will cause this symptom. I am actually planning to get a SD and make it fast. It will never be as fast or nimble as a Raptor but the Raptor breaks a lot. (power steering pump, steering rack, IWE, Axles) And I want 40 in tires. I do love the turning radius of the Raptor and the suspension at high speeds.

I would honestly get a diesel if I wanted to go fast. Then again, you are complaining of the raptor breaking a lot.

There is no way in hell I'm jacking with my 2015 truck. Ain't gonna happen. I would advise that if you are dying to spend your time and money buying and installing go fast goodies then buy some old hunk of junk and have at it. .

Gears are your biggest bang for the buck. Add a 5 star tune and you'll see some good gains.

I'm not sure what u mean by "Then again, you are complaining of the Raptor breaking a lot"
But if you read FRF the problems I have had are very common without forced air. I don't drive my truck particularly hard. It's just very poorly designed. Amazing suspension but everything else is the same as a normal F150. How can you expect stock steering and drive components to stand up to way more travel, steeper control arm angles, huge tires, and much more power? It's just made to go fast. It's not made to actually wheel. I want a better combo of both. I have considered diesel but I want the truck to be as light as possible. And I'm really happy with the Supercharged 6.2. Power and sound
