My daughter's 4 year project and counting

Sorry to hear about your father. I blame my father for all this car and truck stuff . I did get a lift and the best thing that I did. I have to have the ceiling raised a touch about where the lift is but for now I can still lift it high enough to get under it with a mechanics chair and do all that I want . I just got to the point that I could not get enthused about crawling around on the floor and then trying to get up.

I just opened this thread and saw that your Dad has passed away; very sorry to hear that. My condolences for the loss to your family. The truck will be a constant rememinder of the times you, your daughter and dad had working on it.
Hope to see it on the road this summer, as we are reasonalby close in geographic terms.
Now to finish that truck!

Nope, $80 cad set of joints and 2 bars, $35 cad for third, with a pressed on bearing (had one on hand) on one shaft (my dad was one smart machinist/welder/black smith).
got the joint set from johnny law, but had a bit of issue with johnny lately. I had time so shopped around for good deals...over 6 years, deals can be found for everything.
Actually i got the Mustang2 ifs from them too...$1100 plus $168 cad shipping all in, with 11” disks, gm brakes and power rack. But springs were not for 54 f100 (9/16” spring too light), didn't figure that out till 3 years later, they wouldn’t exchange, and shocks were too short for the right springs. Found a supplier in BC with good prices and stock. Truck sits perfect now.

I'm crafting the plans in my head to get a lift so that I don't have to crawl on the garage floor or driveway anymore. But getting a lift means getting the ceiling clearance, which means a bigger garage, which means...well you know where it goes. But I sure want a lift.

Update time! Going in for safety inspection for registration!
btw trucks been around the block a few times.
Who needs a glove box?
put it in here to keep the old style look.
Climate control and stereo.
Unfinished planks
red oak
Walnut stain and Finished with tongue oil.
can be recoated easy and will not yellow or flake
Installed with stainless rails and bolts
Ready for first road test
Oh, how the tailgate turned out.
my daughter hand painted it, then i cleared it again.
Back to road test
my oldest daughter found the original plate, so on it goes!

Right before my daughter drove it for the first time!
