F-250 gas specific.

Hi guys, new to the forum after I discovered it 3 months ago.
I work in the explosives field and currently drive an 06 150 e -cab long box purchased new. Looking at 250's in the same configuration due to payload issues. Will only occasionally pull a 30' off shore boat and trailer around the 12,500 lbs. And regularly tow 17' Lund fisherman with a 115 yamaha, weight unknown.
My current rig has a 4.10 ratio and a 5.4 triton. Seems to be a good fit but fuel mileage stinks. Long story short, I figured I'd do my intro and ask a question in one fal-swoop.
6.2 owners in the 250's...would you be kind enough to post your mileage, gear ratios and tire sizes? You can keep it brief if you like.
I haven't seen a post this model specific yet.
Thanks much.
J

Highway, 14.8 hand calculated this weekend, 375 mile round trip to Indy, empty, 3.73's, stock 20's (275 65 20), CC set about 71mph.

Daily.. we live rural, some small town driving, seems to be averaging around 12.

'13 crew cab shorty 4x4. Stock 18" wheels and 4.30 rear.
On a back road doing 55, I can get 16-17mpg. But who drives 55? Driving however I want, unloaded 50/50 city/hwy I'll get 12. Towing a 10K 5er, I'll get 7-8 until I get into the hills.

Edit: Oops, forgot I was in the '17 forum. Take it for what its worth.

There is more info down in the 6.2 section FYI.
2017 250 6.2 4.30 4x4 35x12.50x20 no level
My normal tank hand calcd avg is 12.5-12.8. This is mostly town driving with a little bit of rural backroad heading home. I'm very happy with that as my previous 6.2 had 275/70/18's and 3.73's and would always be around 11 mpg.
If I drive only hwy, 55-65 I can get a consistent 15, however, I never am on the hwy long enough to make it through an entire tank. So best fill up hand calc'd has been 14.1, and that tank had over half of the miles racked up on the hwy.
I recently did an Interstate weekend trip, 75+ mph, and couldn't get over 14.

Stock 20' wheels and Michelins from the dealer. 3.73, 4x4

I drive conservatively and get 15 on the highway and 12.5 around town.

I haven't towed anything heavy yet.

2017 F-250 CCSB 6.2 4.30 4X2 275/65/18

Highway @ 60 mph average = 15.4~15.9 mpg
Mixed highway/city = 14.3 mpg
Interstate @ 75 mph average = 13.8~14.1 mpg
Hauling gooseneck horse trailer = 12.1 mpg
Overall lifetime mileage from day one = 12.5 mpg (the 4.30 gears make pushing the loud pedal very, very, very tempting)

Factory 20" wheels 4x4 3.73 rear end. My mileage has been very similar to others here. Highway looks in the neighborhood of 14-16. I haven't really logged a highway trip and a lot of my driving is country and back roads and light towing. My towing has been in the neighborhood of 10-12 and I would say city around 12-14. My hand calculations are almost always .5 MPG lower than the truck has calculated. Most of my towing has been with a Boston Whaler Dauntless 210. Full weight around 6-7k.

6.2 w/ 4.30 running Toyo Open Country AT2 in the 295/65/20 size..
with just turning 2k on the odo..
14.5 running empty on longer not-to-fast runs..
11-12 running around town
9.6 hauling my approx 2800# 102" wide 80" high enclosed snowmobile trailer @ 60mph.. which is 1.6 better than I ever would have had with my 2010 with the 5.4..

I have the 6.2 with 3.73's and 295/65/18 Duratracs on her. With about 950 miles on the clock I average 12.5 mixed highway/city

Thanks to those who responded, it helped me make my ordering decision.
With the marginal to no difference in mpg's, I'm going with the 4.30 differential.
Keep up the posts, it's pretty darn interesting.
