I have a 07 Mountaineer that has a coolant leak in one of the heater lines. It's the aluminum line with the "Y" in it next to the passenger side firewall. The leak is in the Y. I through some JB weld on it last summer and it held until this week, it's leaking again. I went to our local repair shop to see what the damage would be to have it fixed. They quoted the part alone at $342! He called Ford and they stated it's a complete assembly. Has anyone just purchased the aluminum part with the Y. I've attached a photo of the part I'm referring to. I'm for squeezing out some more JB in lieu of that kind of price!
Could you just cut out the "Y" with a dremel and buy a plastic T or Y and attach it back to the remaining tubes with a couple pieces of heater hose and 3 clamps? Just looking at options, I've put 155,000 miles on this Mountaineer, it's been a great vehicle but it's starting to nickel and dime me to death.
