What do ya think guys? Side Windows's are shaped to take pickup rear windows. Rear doors have been converted to a hatch.

Someone woke up in the middle of a bad dream JK Looks like it could be salvaged into something decent, not too radical, that still looked somewhat like a Ford panel.
Quality of work done and amount of rust would be the big factors. What else has been hacked?

Ray what's JK? I'd like to have a panel that's not dark in the back but don't know what period correct windows would look right.

JK = just kidding. I would think if the rest of the truck has not been hacked, those window mods would not look too bad. Nice proportions.

I don't think those rear window opening from a standard cab pickup look very good on there myself and don't care much for those hinges on top of the rear hatch. I think if side windows are going to be installed they should flow with the lines of the panel..

I remember back in the 70's early 80's many Panels had windows cut in the sides. But they were more modern and didn't look like they could have been made that way from the factory.

The rear door hinges are junk and need to be replaced with Pinto station wagon rear door hinges that go on the inside . As for the windows , these would be flat glass that could be cut by a local glass shop , into any shape you want . the inside ribs on this would have been cut out, make sure it is framed up like a house window to keep the sides from flexing . by making your own design you could have what ever tint you wanted . If you are good with your computer you should try different shapes on a picture of your panel ,

You said be honest -- go find a suburban. Too me that's what he tried to make it. I would worry about the structural aspect of the build also. As stated by others the rest of the changes would be a factor also and the rust. If the price is right -- and I mean a really good deal -- and you don't mind the work, it could be a project. That would also depend on what else is available in your area you can afford to put time and money into. Customs are find for the guy building but the resale falls thru the floor may be a factor in your decision also. Have fun

Price is 3,000 it has a 98 Contenintal frame and power train that it was on as well as the original frame that it's now back on. OBTW Those taillights are also from the Contenintal.

Dave I've got the pinto hinges already.

LEDs provide lots of light and draw very little current. And you would still have a non hacked panel that looked llke a panel. Something that would not turn a potential buyer off.

I think you have enough project now and should just concentrate on finishing one rather than doing all at once or you will never have the enjoyment of driving one..
