Dash and Door Panel Fitup Questions

Cab has '89 interior installed. The power window switch is beyond annoying in location. I'm constantly unlocking the doors, or operating the wrong window. Gets bad especially going through the gate to Base.

Will the 92+ door panels fit up to the 89 dash? Does it look stupid?

The dashboard shape where it meets the door is completely different.

yeah, I was afraid that was the case. Will the door shut without rubbing?

Truck is an oddball anyways with 3 different trucks (1982, 1986, 1989) contributing to it's make-up. Rather she be functional than overly pretty

No idea if it will fit without rubbing. I'm not even sure if the window switch connectors are the same.

I too have the same issue, but one day my tool box slid over and hit the pass side door lock switch.... had to pop the hood and pull battery cable to get in my truck! Could not turn the door key to unlock!

I think the 92 up panel will work and clear the dash of the 89(won't match up the lines). I have not tried it yet with a 92 door panel I have in my 89.

Perhaps you can trim, modify, reshape, of the door panel where it meets the dash. I believe that the switches are configured different between the two generations, and the plugs would be different too. I would probably hunt down the door wire harness for both sides at the recycle yard and see if it will plug into your existing harness connection (located behind the kick panels). If it will, you can replace the harness in your truck with the acquired ones, or modify just the switch portion.

Huh. My '87 Bronco EB was my DD for many years and never had that problem. I knew where the switch I wanted was by feel. Went out and looked. The door lock switch has a square raised/ inset section while the window switches are round and the window switches are spaced away from the lock switch. I think the later door panel is too thick and cuts into interior space. As said by others, I'm not sure how that would match up to the dash.

I'm not sure how much of a hurry you are in but I have a '92-96 door panel I can throw in to see how it fits just not today. It's raining pretty hard out there.
