So i just istalled dual egt guages and am wounding what i should be seeing? So far i see a difference of 20* at idle and 60* while climbing. Normal driving. Cooler side is driver side.

 

Yup... I'm 50*-100* difference. Passenger side being the hotter. I did do a cct test, and #4 came up high/low. It may contribute to the temp difference

 

Mine used to be in sync, but I've been having a thing going on with the driver side for a while.

 

Thank you for the replies. Assuming that there is something not 100%on one side, what side would you start with the hotter or cooler side? Im thinkin week injector on cooler side or boost leak at a plenum. Truck is bone stock engine 256k.

I would start on the side that is abnormal for the for the current running conditions when tested. Depending on the conditions when tested either one could be the "normal" side, colder or warmer.

 

The next thing I would do would be to get an infrared thermometer and check the exhaust manifold at each cylinder and see what they were like.
