Have a tired 400 in a 79 f350 4x4 and the parts to put together a strong 428 im crious about motor mounts. Has anybody done this swap?

 

All FEs use the same block and motor mounts, including the 360 which was the used in 4x4s from 73-76. Just get a set of those mounts and you should be golden.

 

Mounts are not a problem,but the bellhousing patterns are different.

 

1958/64 FE's use a different bolt pattern on the block for the rubber insulators than 1965/76 FE's.

1965 F100/250 352 4WD; 1965/66 F350 352; 1966 F250 352 4WD use the same engine mounting arrangement as 1961/64 F100/700 292.

 

I used the factory passenger car (galaxie) engine isolators and torched a new hole in the existing frame perch to locate the engine. It was about 1" rearward from the 335 series slot.
