Need help putting my clutch pedal linkage back together.

Hello all, I'm brand new to the forum. Tried searching for awhile, and could not come up with a solution to my problem, so I figured it was time I joined up and got some assistance in how to repair my newly aquired 95 f150 with 4.9L, manual trans.

I picked the truck up for a steal, and am slowly fixing it up. My problem that I am stumped with, is I have had the dreaded repeated clutch bushing failure. About seven times now have I replaced the damn bushing that keeps the rod from the clutch master cylinder attached to the useless ball end on the linkage.

Well I finally broke down and ordered up one of those permanent fix kits off of ebay. Its basically a heim joint, that you replace the whole ball and socket system with. There should be a few on here that I hope are familiar with this "modification".

Well to make a long story short, I have done all the necessary cutting and grinding to adapt the new piece into the truck, and as I am now in putting it all back together I appear to have completely lost the large nut that goes on the end of the splined linkage rod, which holds the plate that used to have the ball end on it.

I have been looking for it for days now, and quite frankly I figured its time to start hunting a replacement. Problem is, I cant for the life of me find what size that damn nut is. I managed to do all the modifications without taking the entire pedal assembly out of the truck, so I really dont want to have to take it out now, just to drag it all to the hardware store and find a replacement nut, so can anyone on here tell me what size nut I need to replace it with? all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I haven't figured out how to post pictures on here yet, however the link here shows an image of the nut I am referring to, since my description of the parts is abit vague.

no old guy in the neighbourhood with 40 years worth of saved up nuts and bolts ?
no auto wrecker around ?

looked through my ford shop manual but it doesn't give the size, only the torque specs.

A tape measure works to get you in the ballpark....go buy a few and bring them home and try them.
