1949 8BA Engine oil inlet/outlet lines

After struggling with part numbers and solid information from online stores, websites and blogs..I realized that I had some left over brake lines which might actually fit. And..they did!!
Am I stretching it a bit with substituting brake lines for oil lines? Is this wishful thinking or am I missing something that someone would care to share with me.
Here's a picture of what I ended up with. Truthfully, I can't remember what I started with..again. Next time more pics before I remove stuff!

Your engine, having head studs and not bolts and oil filter assembly are a bit different than my Canadian ones. Also how the fuel pump adapter points. I will take a close up of mine if you like. Darrell

I have been thinking about trying brake lines myself. One thing I noticed, do you have the restrictor fitting at the bottom. If not you will need one. Ross just found the fitting for me at Napa. Part No. WH1512. Look for my post from yesterday on the restrictor fitting. If you have the fitting never mind. Dale

F-1, your fuel pump is on 180 deg out from where it should be. Nice looking engine!

The oil filter on my '53 does not have the plug circled in red, is that a drain?

Yes I think so but can't find it in my 29-49 Ford Fast moving Parts Catalogue. It just goes into the canister. Darrell

Thanks everyone..yes my fuel pump is mounted wrong..I'll correct.
No I don't have the restrictor but will put one on.

Still..can't help thinking my oil lines (brake lines) are a smaller in diameter than what I see in these and other pictures..any thoughts about this please?

Follow up RE: WH 1512 restrictor fitting described by NAPA as Tube Connection/Fitting
Local NAPA store (Delray Beach, Fl) tells me Napa doesn't carry Weatherhead products any longer in the Southeast US..referred me to a local Hydraulic Supply store which carries Eaton who are owners of Weathehead but they don't carry it and never heard of it.
Here is a picture I took off the Napa website..any other suggestions I might try?

I'm not to sure about the brake lines myself. Our mech at work is pretty sharp when it comes to fluid lines and fittings. I will see what he thinks tonight. As far as the the fitting goes, I just called Napa and they will have me one today. If all else fails and you can't get one I can send one to you. I would think there should be places in Florida that can get them.

The brake lines are fine, these are not full-flow filters. The restrictor limits flow much more than the lines.

Thanks Krustyi..I would feel a lot better knowing these brake lines will work for oil lines..they look awfully thin and not sure what diameter I should be working with.
As I mentioned NAPA in my area said they no longer carry Weatherhead in the south east US..I live in Florida..
ALBUQ has offered to get one and send it to me..both of you have been a great help. Thank you!!

I don't mind holding on to the one I can get from NAPA, I have a couple of spare oil filter canisters but they are all missing the orifices. Krusi, how much was it at your NAPA? Mine wants $12, seems pretty darn high. I have bought them before and as I recall they were 3 bucks.

15 bucks. I thought that was on the high end. If that's the only place to find it they kinda got you over the barrel.
