Looks a lot like mine

From my donor 1989 E250
I copied most like the install from Ford on the van as far approximately the same elevation in relation to the frame/tank even at the front of the cab near the right wheel. The rubber fuel line was rotted I used the factory hard lines and new rubber lines seams to work so far I think the caps keep water out

Do the caps seal tight or just cover to prevent water ?

Purge question.

I plan on running the purge off a rocker switch. How often should it be purged? Once a day?

I would just purge it whenever you want once the engine is at temp. Since my last one has no purge hooked up it has been that way a year and never been purged.

I don't know which system you are using but as you can see from the diagram that Dave provided there is a pressure control valve in the system that automatically purges the tank when pressure and vacuum conditions are right. If you add a switch in the system you may defeat this and sometimes nothing will happen when you flip the switch.

So sitting here thinking.

I'm going to do this. Whenever the temp sender kicks the fan on, it will trigger a relay to purge the system. Then I don't have to worry about it.

I'm still not sure that will purge your system as frequently as it should since the evap system works off a combination of vacuum and tank pressure. Why not just run it to 12v?

If I run it off 12v directly I wouldn't think it would build any pressure and always be open. I guess I could run it so he purge valve is always open when running but once the engine warms up , I'm sure it will purge more often then none with the temp sender.

I had mine hooked up to a TVAC switch but I will have to reconnect it and see how it works.
